The Perfect Combination
Peter had found a balance, he was right in the middle. He felt good, but he wouldn't let it get to his head, he thought he was funny, but all his jokes were corny, he found peace, but war was taking place just ahead. " I won't let this get to my head, it could all go down the drain in a matter of moments" he sat and enjoyed his cigarette in this time of ease, he didn't feel depressed, but he sure as hell missed it, it felt wrong to him, like something was missing (although everything was going right). The night was young, but Peter felt old, his soul was tired, his head was aching, his ears rang, his hands were shaking, he tried to speak but his tounge was dry and it stuck to the top of his mouth. Peter grabbed his water bottle and took a sip from it. He concentrated deeply on not thinking too much, it was exhausting, his brain was spurting out thoughts like a waterfall, he ignored himself, he thought about her, what she was doing, all his desires were gone, all his dreams were locked up in the trunk of his car, he took them everywhere but never dared to open it, he wanted his soulmate to do it for him, he was waiting for the woman of his dreams, but apparently she was locked in the trunk too, maybe one day she could force it open and make all of peters dreams come true. "It's a funny thought," he spoke aloud to the insects and wild animals that were hiding in the bushes around him, " how one can live through something so important, feel it, smell it, hear it, see it, but when you are with someone else, they have no idea what you've been through, I guess that's just a stupid idea, it just gives you a perspective of life that you never really realize." Peter looked around as if he were waiting for somebody, but he wasn't. "Sometimes I just wish life would surprise me with something amazing."
