Take Me Home

"Aaaannnd... Off we go!" Said Peter, simply thinking aloud to himself and his two outside dogs, they probably didn't understand, but it made him feel less insane. He tried to gather his thoughts and feelings and mush them into one big pile of smelly ideas. He felt happy today, but he knew that, him being who he was, it was simply at its peak, and sooner then later, all that happiness would just blow up in his face and turn into total grief. He balled it all up and tossed it to the back of his mind. He kept his face emotionless, his mouth was not grinning nor frowning, it was partly open as he looked up at the stars, the last thing he needed to worry about were wrinkles. He took some breaths through his mouth, some through his nose and every now and then, he'd breathe in through both at the same time, he concentrated deeply on the present, the here, the now, not the yesterday or tomorrow "answers will come," he assured himself with the greatest possible vibes and tones he could dig out of his vacant mind. He looked up at the stars, no moon, no lights, just him and the night, a cloud of pollution swarmed all around him, he tried to make the best of it, it was enough to help him blank everything else out. "I'll be outta here very soon, I can assure you that!" He tried to hide his excitement, without sounding too unconfident, "if you allow me to, atleast," he said as he looked back up at the handful of flashing solar systems above him. He went back to his numb state of mind, lit a cigarette and stared blankly at the black gravel beneath his dirty shoes. Breathing slowly, as if enjoying his final breaths of life itself. A loud humming noise came from a distance, creeping closer by the second, a flash of light lit up all of his surroundings, and in the blink of an eye, Peter was laying in his bed, facing up, staring at a dark ceiling... "Goodnight."
