Fade into the void

An small orange ember glows in the void, it grows strong then fades away, it grows again, and fades away. A stranger approaches Peter and asks for a smoke, "sure, man. It's my last one" "are you sure, bud?" Yeah, I'm gonna buy another pack anyways" the stranger takes a seat on the bench next to him. The two in silence, admire the cricket chirps, looking up at the massive creatures we call "trees" Peter begins to doze off, thinking of his return home, not looking forward to it all, even less, work the next day. "Why must we be slaves to money?" He thought, as he looked at the stranger. A very distinguished profile. The stranger looks at him and appears to be giving him a small grin. Peter flicks the cigarette butt and watches the ember fade out in the grass. Peter stands and embraces the grasp of reality. "It's time to go home" he says to the stranger "goodbye, Peter" he replies and watches peter fade into the void, just as the cigarette did.
